OOM: so nice of you to drop in
Canton sector
Warehouse 13
South Dakota
On a normal day, this part of the Warehouse is pretty quiet. The shelves are the usual seemingly random collection of junk - not that any of it's junk, of course, but it would have that appearance to the untrained eye.
Of course, that's assuming today is normal, which it isn't...

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUGH AAH AHH AAAH!"
He's going to flail wildly before getting those gauntlets equipped and aiming for whatever support beam he can hit.
klank!
Now this bit is going to be tricky, because when he reels in the line before it goes taut he forgets what happened the last time he did that.
"AAAAUUUUGH!"
Which was doing a very flaily Indiana Jones impression.

(Well, in one sense, it could have been good thing. But in another, he's on his own to get down.)
At least he's got a good view of where he's ended up. The Warehouse is huge, much more so than one would suspect from the outside, had he seen that first (having a mountain to dig into helps). The shelves stratch on for quite some way, sometimes breaking to make room for various larger objects - ships, airplanes, houses, you name it.
(Is that the Trojan Horse off in the distance?)

As for how Tyler can get there... well, even if he were near the zip line, there's no harness nearby. If there's enough line in the gauntlet, he might be able to do a more controlled descent to the floor. Otherwise, he might be able to scramble down a support girder; they're not exactly designed for climbing, but it's doable.
Easier if you have magnets, but doable.

"...where the heck butt did I end up landing..."

It's more than a little old, as bicycles go, but the wheels still look serviceable. Maybe it wouldn't be ideal for off-road conditions, but he's pretty clearly inside.
Can't hurt to give it a try, right?
no subject
One, two, one two...
He's getting better at riding bikes at least!

C(293) 286173-00: Wright Brothers' Bicycle

Date of acquisition: September 29, 1943
Circumstances of acquisition: found in a prop warehouse in Hollywood, California, alongside other items used in The Wizard of Oz
Properties:
flies and carries the rider with it

And probably would've been a little less likely to have pedaled for a few good feet before taking off. With that the bike is gaining altitude.
"..Oh crap."
no subject
At least as Artifacts go, a flying bike is mostly harmless; a lot of it's going to come down to steering. And letting anyone who may be nearby know you're coming, of course. But how best to do that?
How about what looks like a bike horn on a nearby shelf?
no subject
Tyler can't get it without crashing the bike into the shelf, but as he passes by it's easy to line up the shot to grab it with the grappling gauntlet.
Honk!

Jack would like it on the record for posterity that he absolutely hated this case; who am I not to indulge him? -Rebecca
(When Claudia got to this tag, after briefly meeting the latter former agent in question, she couldn't resist preserving the paper version's contents in their entirety.)

..and to honk that horn he picked up as often as possible to try and get someone's attention.
Come on, someone's gotta notice eventually.
...and he really doesn't like the way some of those things on the shelves just seem to be looking at him.

So she's doing a round of inventory, so there's a little bit less for Artie to freak out about while she's gone... and something's honking.
"Weird," she says to herself, before checking the nearest backup terminal; it's not an alarm, but the screen's showing a pair of Artifact disturbances. "--Okay, what the hell, I didn't touch anything this time!"
And then she looks up.
"...Tyler?"
no subject
HonkHONKhonkhonkhonk-HONK!
no subject
"You got a clear runway," she calls, after glancing over her shoulder to make sure. "Go ahead and land if you can."
Better that than bringing out the goo to get him down.
no subject
Tyler's already coming around again to brake and glide down that open stretch of aisle... This however, doesn't mean that he makes the most gracious of landings.
Wham! Crash!
Boy and bike are now in a pile but the boy is well enough that he can in fact get back up again...horn never having left his hand the entire trip down.
no subject
Since he's getting up under his own power, Claudia checks the bike (Artie will flip his lid if it's been damaged); thankfully, it's good to go too.
Then again, if Pete's taken it for a spin, it's been through worse.
no subject
...please understand that because it looks like Tyler is really trying to speak but no words are coming out.
Honk?
no subject
"...That's Harpo Marx's horn, isn't it." She immediately starts looking around for the nearest goo hose.
no subject
No seriously what.
no subject
There's a hose fixture on the wall nearby, sort of like something you might find on an old-school fire extinguisher.
no subject
Honk.
no subject
Of course she has a towel with her. She is one prepared hitchhiker.
Anyway, she takes the hose down and pumps some purple goo out of it and onto Tyler's hands and the horn, trying not to hit his clothes too badly.
no subject
And the kid looks about twice as drained as before, but at least the horn lets go of him.
"...ugh."
no subject
"Okay," she says, "now that you can talk... what happened to where you ended up here?"
He doesn't know how, so she'll chalk it up to Milliways weird. But it's worth knowing how weird.
no subject
So many flavors of doom.
no subject
"...so we may need to move the-- what's getting nasty?" Artie says from his computer; apparently, they caught him mid-conversation with Leena.
"Milliways."
"Well, I could have told you that, there's a reason--"
Claudia rolls her eyes. "No, dude, I mean the part where, alongside a metric crapton of doom and gloom, it spit a ten-year-old out into Canton sector. Which, you might note, is nowhere near the door."
no subject
The walk here was so absolutely tiring, really.
no subject
Artie scowls. "Well, take him back, then."
"I'm not sure that's an option right now. Apparently the bar's eating itself alive or something."
And really, you know things are bad when Claudia is saying that maybe using the door to Milliways is a bad idea.
no subject
"His aura's a mess, Artie," she says. "At the very least, he needs a good dinner and a good night's sleep, and it's not as though much happens at the B&B anyway."
"And if we can't get him back to his world, how do we explain a nine-year-old appearing out of thin air?"
"We'll cross that bridge when we come to it."
no subject
no subject
"Diving in even when I give you express orders not to." Artie sighs. "All right, fine, but you are to stay put when you get to Leena's, understood?"
The less people they have to explain a random kid to, the better.
no subject
Beat.
"Uhm...I do have something that lets me turn invisible? It doesn't last long though."
no subject
Claudia's torn between laughing and facepalming into infinity. "Don't, Tyler. He'll make me take you back to Milliways for sure."
no subject
But with that look he's digging it out of a jacket pocket and handing the little device over.
no subject
"Dude, I have a car for that. Let's go, Leena can feed you something you actually want to eat."
And then he can sleep soundly, r at least in the knowledge that the place he's sleeping won't come down around his ears overnight.
no subject
The big thick door is the one that leads out right? He can have real food and not RARs or something and sleep without nightmares right?
